FAQ

  • Why do I need your services?

Most people don’t realize they need us until they meet with us to see how we can support them. Often people leave their doctor’s appointment uncertain of the next steps. They may have been prescribed a new medication and are unaware of the serious side effects only to have a five-minute conversation with the pharmacist about that medication when they pick up their prescription. With the help of your PopRN advocate, you understand exactly what your next steps are when you leave your appointment. We even go a step further to make sure your care is coordinated with all your service providers.

  • Does insurance cover your services?

We want you to drive your plan of care on your terms without limitations. Therefore, we do not bill insurance for our services. At a doctor’s appointment, if you receive medical services that are billable under insurance, we will make sure that your insurance is billed.

  • How much do your services cost?

We develop a fee structure after we conduct a complimentary consultation to determine your needs. Our fees are based on your personal needs.

  • What types of clients do you serve?

We serve clients that are older adults, children of older adults who are too busy to attend meetings and appointments with their parents, and caregivers of older adults. Our clients often have medical complexities and are navigating care from multiple service providers.

  • Doesn’t this service already exist in home health services?

No, medical advocacy does not exist in home health services. Home health services do not include healthcare advocacy and are typically for a limited amount of time based on insurance approvals. Home health companies may provide companions at doctor appointments to make sure your loved one remains safe during the appointment. Pop RN advocacy is not a companion service rather an advocacy service to help you manage your healthcare.

  • Can you help me if I need your services outside of Illinois?

Yes, our advocates can still help you even if you are not local to Illinois. We are able to provide virtual support and consultation. We have assisted clients finding placement in other states. Book a consultation to see how we can support you.

  • Do I need a referral from my doctor?

You do not need a referral from your doctor to utilize our services. With your permission, we can speak with your doctor about the support we provide you during your appointments.

  • How will this benefit doctors?

Our goal is to increase patient satisfaction with their providers. We make sure that all of your patient’s questions are answered and relay the information to them in easy to understand language. We spend the extra time that providers do not have breaking down their care. When a patient understands their plan of care, this reduces medical errors such as polypharmacy, wrong treatment plans and wrong diagnoses. Our goal is to provide your patients with the understanding to keep them out of the hospital.

  • I need help with my healthcare but do not see what I am looking for under the services listed. Can you still help me?

If you do not see the service that you are looking for under our list of services, we encourage you to book a complimentary consultation to see if we can assist you. We provide additional support that may not be listed here. We will meet and discuss your needs to see if we could provide you with the support you are looking for.
